I once heard a quote about a penguin in the desert. The penguin is quite right the way he is, but unfortunately in completely the wrong place. I felt the same way, but not in the desert: and while I was a singing penguin, stocking shelves, helping out in a retirement home or working with children - I was strongly advised to do something down-to-earth - I realized that these couldn't be the right places for the penguin either. Where should I go now? I can swim, but I'm even better at kicking a ball around on a soccer pitch and playing in a team. So I would say that playing is my element and so, in a way, the play has become my ocean, my real place. It's where I can channel my energy, follow my impulses, sink into the depths of my characters and then emerge full of happiness. In this respect, I am a wild and very passionate penguin with plenty of power and joie de vivre in my flippers. And, like most of my kind, I'm happiest when I'm with like-minded people, whether on set, on the pitch or at home.
