The sweet porridge

On Saturday, a TV fairy tale premiered in the Hackesche Höfe, which was not so easy to realize, as this story by the Brothers Grimm fits on half a book page. What the authors Anja Kömmerling and Thomas Brinx then came up with delighted the audience at the preview and even a few tears could be seen, which were quickly wiped away when the lights came on for the applause.Roland Wolf is allowed to show a very dark side here for the first time. His Ruben von Hammerlitz is not just a medieval villain, he also shows the prototype of today's man of power. People wistfully remember a pot that once gave them sweet porridge in abundance. But one song says that the pot has been smashed and its pieces scattered to the winds. Only the girl Jola does not believe in such stories. In her desperate search for food for her mother and siblings, she meets a mysterious forest woman who promises her the magical pot if she has courage, mercy and wisdom.Jola sets off to find the broken pieces. She is quickly joined by a young man called Veit, who appears helpful but is in fact a driven man: Veit is in debt and is being blackmailed by his brother, Count Ruben. The magic pot would be a loot with which Veit could quickly get rid of his worries. "The Sweet Porridge" is a film adaptation of a well-known Grimm fairy tale as part of the "Fairy Tale Pearls" series. Filming took place at the Bleiberg Open-Air Museum and Kriebstein Castle, among other locations.Kinderfilm GmbH on behalf of MDR and ZDFDirector: Frank StoyeCasting: Anne HeubnerFirst broadcastMonday, December 24, 2018, 3.05 p.m.Simultaneously on ZDFmediathek
