Summer of overcoming

The Westhafen in Berlin still doesn't quite feel like a home port. Michelle had previously associated such an unconventional life with people like the Kelly Family, but she wanted her child to grow up normally and she also comes from Lüdenscheid, where people are down-to-earth and her beloved Bavaria is also far away. The houseboat makes unusual noises at night, but Michelle is not afraid of winter on the water. She got to know her boat last winter and thinks the ice all around it makes winter so vivid, romantic and sensual. She is still practising her love for her new surroundings. She can relax here and switch off on the water, wants to build a yoga lounge on deck, she likes her neighbors, the swans, and at the front of the entrance on the dock she will put up the elephant from LILIANE SUSEWIND. You'll know right away who lives here, because her husband is the author and director Joachim Masannek.it was a summer of challenges. During the filming of LILIANE SUSEWIND, Michelle spent many weeks away from her husband, who was movie the movie in Aachen, and she was filming VENUS IM VIERTEN HAUS in Munich, until she also came to Aachen. Now the movie family has to settle down, their daughter has just started school. In Berlin Mitte, in an international school, there are many nationalities, the atmosphere is warm and cosmopolitan, minimalist living is now the order of the day. You get an eye for the essentials when you have a crazy man who suddenly puts you on a houseboat. A lot of things that had accumulated in the Munich house over 10 years flew out, Michelle spent six months clearing out, too much of what you don't really need can overwhelm you, and she finds the people here to be very open. Berlin is more hippie than Munich. Her grandmother in Lüdenscheid used to say that everyone is the same. That's a nice dream, of course, but at least here in Berlin the homeless are part of public life, whereas in Munich poverty is covered up and hidden. Yesterday she saw a man in the subway playing the flute and thanking him, even though he had hardly any money. In Bavaria, playing music on the train is forbidden.
