It couldn't be going better

Why Berlin when you can also live in Düsseldorf, film in Cologne and play theater in your adopted home? Jens Hajek at least doesn't have the feeling that Berlin is waiting for him. For the dyed-in-the-wool Rhinelander, the location is a stroke of luck, as he can live out all facets of his profession here. The Actors is currently filming for "Unter Uns" in Cologne during the week and rehearsing in Düsseldorf at the weekend for the play "Die Eule und das Kätzchen", which premieres at the Komödie Düsseldorf on 08.08.2017. "It's just great, because not only can I cycle to the theater, but working with director Rolf Berg and my acting partner Julia Kelz is also great fun." Like Jens Hajek, Rolf Berg also comes from Ratingen. However, it is not only the same home that connects them, but above all a great love of acting. "What sets him apart as a director is that he works with us on an equal footing, makes suggestions, but is just as happy to try things out differently and also puts himself on stage to show us how it comes across. It's incredibly nice to work like that. There's often no time for such precision when filming." "The Owl and the Kitten" is a black and humorous comedy, full of dramaturgical twists and witty punchlines that the two characters throw at each other. Doris takes life on the easy side, dreams of a glorious career in the movieand talks without a dot or a comma. Felix is a bookshop employee and would-be poet, with a penchant for incomprehensible sentences and an uptight and awkward manner. Two people who have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Until Felix denounces Doris to the landlord, who throws her out on the street. She promptly turns up at Felix's door and angrily calls the "informer" to account. What follows is the development of two people towards truth and honesty, and when the play opens in August, Jens Hajek will also be in full swing. During the week, he will continue filming in Cologne during the day and play at the Düsseldorf Theater in the evening. At the weekend, he will even do double performances. "I like it, even if it does get stressful at times, but it's an absolute privilege to be able to do both at the same time. I'm already looking forward to it!"Die Eule und das Kätzchen, premiere 08.08.2017, Komödie DüsseldorfRun: 08.08-2017 - 21.09.2017
