DING-DONG! THE WITCH IS DEAD!

Under the title DING DONG! THE WITCH IS DEAD! the graduating class is developing an antique project. The title comes from the famous 1939 musical film "The wizard of Oz", in which the destruction of the witch is the exciting centerpiece, just like in "Hansel and Gretel". In the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, the children protect themselves from being eaten by burning the witch in their own oven. The parallel to the "Oresteia" is obvious. Clytemnestra wishes her children dead; in the eyes of Electra and Orest, the mother is evil through and through and must be destroyed. In fairy tales, the eradication of evil may work, but in life it only brings pain and misery. At least that's what Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides have been saying for more than 2500 years.Electra: So I say to you: you admit you murdered your father! - What word could be more shameless than this? Clytemnestra: You are always a child - it is your nature - devoted to your father. Some are devoted to their father, others prefer their mother.PREMIERE: February 20, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the Studiotheater Expo PlazaFURTHER PERFORMANCES: February 21, 22, 26, 27, 28 and March 1, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.Theplay will be performed by: Alexandra Ostapenko | Tomasz Robak | Sandra Bezler | Carsten Faseler and Günter SzynkarekDirector: Jan Konieczny | Costumes: Lucile Larour | movie: Felix Kahlo | Music: Jonas KrischkeA production of the HMTMH drama program - 4th year of study.
