Eva-Maria Frank in a Feydeau

Eva-Maria Frank is spending her summer at home in Carinthia at the comedy festival in Porcia. She is performing in two plays on the open-air stage there, one of which is "The Matchmakers" by Georges Feydeau: three siblings from the countryside are looking for a matchmaking agency in Paris and inadvertently end up at the employment agency for domestic staff. The neurologist Doctor Saint-Galmier, who hires the three of them, is not a little surprised when his supposed staff approach him, his sister and his bride, believing them to be their future spouses. When Saint-Galmier's mistress turns up, the situation escalates. With the news that three patients have escaped from the doctor's "hydropneumatic" sanatorium, it seems clear that they must be the Gevaudans. So all of them, including the mistress, are sent to the asylum, where they are to be cured with dance and bathing cures.
