Jens Hajek at the Komödie Frankfurt with "Das hat man nun davon"
The play runs until June 29, come and see it! Willi Winzig is probably the best-known and most popular character of the great Heinz Erhardt - even though Winzig is a tax official. But he is one of the good guys, a quirky, amiable oddball whose compassionate heart makes him stumble over the regulations he has to comply with. He sees the human destinies that are hidden behind every single tax procedure and therefore gets caught in many a dilemma between official regulations on the one hand and compassion on the other. He simply doesn't have the heart to ask the citizens to pay, always imagining the worst consequences: "The wife will jump out of the window with that amount!" In addition, he can hardly save himself from unfinished files, the office is getting smaller and fuller. But his omissions come to light by chance a week before his retirement, and to prevent his pension from being cut, his superior advises Winzig to play the role of a "madman", as insanity can protect him from disciplinary action.
